Why Do I Need a Certificate

Completion of this training meets the requirements set by California Evidence Code 1037.1 for designation as a Domestic Violence Counselor. After completing 40 hours of training, graduates shall receive a Certificate of Completion that will enable them to pursue volunteer and employment opportunities working directly with survivors of domestic violence in California. 

 

What Does the training consist of

The 40-Hour Domestic Violence Advocate training gives basic knowledge from which to build expertise and experience of options available to battered individuals, understanding of the dynamics of battering, and a philosophy of empowerment.

 

how can i volunteer when i complete the training

We conduct 16 week domestic violence classes for women and men. With a certificate you will be able to assist and eventually teach classes on your own. We also need advocates to attend court with our participants from time to time.

September 16     1:00 - 6:00

Lunch will be on your own for the 8th and 15th

how do i sign up for the training

Payment through this website holds your spot for the training. Upon receiving your payment & registration form an AV Saving Grace rep will send you a confirmation email that will include the training location. Cost for the training is $150. Please download the Registration Form and mail or email to AV Saving Grace. You can pay below,
